Restyled and ready to impress

With a new grille and fascia, the 2019 Malibu midsize car completes a refreshing design update that demands attention before you even step inside its refined interior. Also new in 2019 is the debut of the exciting and sporty Malibu RS1 that turns up the wow factor at a price you’ll appreciate.

Dependability matters

When we say that Chevrolet vehicles are dependable, it’s not our words – it’s thousands of yours. The J.D. Power Dependability Awards are the result of 36,000 real owners evaluating their 2015 model year vehicles for 177 specific problems over the last 12 months, with Chevrolet coming out on top. Just another way that real people prefer Chevy.

The Chevrolet Malibu received the lowest number of problems per 100 vehicles among Midsize Cars in the J.D. Power 2018 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study, based on 36,896 total responses, measuring problems experienced during the past 12 months by original owners, surveyed October-December 2017. Your experiences may vary. Visit jdpower.com/cars.

Watching Out for you

Available active safety technologies like Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking and Lane Keep Assist work to help you prevent collisions before they happen. In the event of a collision, Malibu comes with a comprehensive air bag1 system and high-strength steel body structure to help protect you, and offers OnStar2 Automatic Crash Response to contact emergency services on your behalf. And to top it off, the Malibu has earned a IIHS Top Safety Pick + Award when equipped with available Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking.

The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu comes with a comprehensive air bag1 sensing system that will deploy air bags in a collision from any direction. In the event of an impact, a high-strength steel safety cage provides impressive protection.

When the air bags deploy, built-in sensors can automatically alert an OnStar2 Advisor (if equipped), who is connected to your Malibu to see if you need help and will contact emergency services. Even if you don’t respond, an OnStar Advisor can use GPS technology to pinpoint your location and request that emergency help is sent right away.

Safety features are no substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. The driver should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Read the vehicle Owner’s Manual for more important safety information. 1. Always use safety belts and child restraints. Children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat in the appropriate child restraint. See the Owner’s Manual for more information.
  2. Visit onstar.com for details and system limitations. OnStar acts as a link to existing emergency service providers. Not all vehicles may transmit all crash data.
Helping You Watch Out For Bad Driving Habits

Malibu offers a built-in system to help encourage safe driving habits, and with its industry-first in-vehicle report card, Teen Driver can let parents know how their teenager drove the vehicle and help them as they continue to coach their new drivers. By inputting a PIN into your available Chevrolet MyLink† display, available Teen Driver technology can enable a whole host of features including:

  • Muting audio when front-seat occupants aren’t wearing their safety belts
  • Giving audible and visual warnings when the vehicle is traveling over preselected speeds
  • Setting a limit on music volume
  • Preventing available active safety features, such as Park Assist (if equipped), from being turned off
  • An in-vehicle report card that informs you if safety features like available Forward Collision Alert or Forward Automatic Braking (if equipped) were triggered
